El Cajon Police Department
El Cajon Senior Patrol Volunteers—El Cajon Police Department
100 Civic Center Way, El Cajon, CA 92020
(619) 579-3311 Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Open alternating Fridays.
Responsibilities include:
- Enforcing handicapped parking regulations
- Conducting vacation home security checks
- Performing traffic control
- Patrolling business districts, parking lots, and school zones
- Calling and/or visiting home bound seniors (YANA Program)
- Making personal contact with business owners, patrons, residents and visitors
- Representing the police department at special events and other duties as assigned
Eligibility:
-Over 50 years of age
-Valid driver’s license and insurance
-Background investigation

Retired & Senior Volunteer Opportunities (RSVP)
Aging & Independence Services-HHSA
Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is one of the many opportunities the Health and Human Services Agency offers older adults a way to help out and volunteer in their communities. There are a variety of locations and roles for older adults who wish to volunteer. More than 200 local organizations benefit from the efforts of RSVP volunteers. These seniors, age 55 plus, help our community through participation in law enforcement, health care, education, the arts and many other arenas. They donate more than 512,000 hours annually, saving our county millions of dollars.
