This guide offers a list of food resources in East Region. The East County Food Resource Guide was a project of the LiveWell Healthy Eating Workgroup. Funding for this project was provided by the Grossmont Healthcare District and the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency.

Bethlehem Food Pantry

Free food pantry. Requires participant to have valid ID and social security number.
The Church on site also hosts a donation request Wednesday night community dinner and free bread program on Monday and Saturday from 9am-Noon.
Children's Choice Daycare
1465 E. Madison Ave, El Cajon 92020
Part of the San Diego Foodbank - Community Cares Project. This site will host a FREE food distribution/ advice clinic on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The advice clinic will open at 8 a.m. with food stamp pre-screening, and the food distributions will start at 9am and last until food is gone.

Foothills Christian Fellowship

Provides food and nutrition education to eligible low-income pregnant women, women 12 months postpartum, breast-feeding mothers, children under six years of age and seniors over the age of 60.
Must meet low-income guidelines and not be a WIC recipient.
9:00 am till 10:00 am, 3rd Thursday of every month.
Monthly Food Packages available for $25.00 - accepts EBT Food Stamps.

Must be a resident of East County and show picture ID. Mostly canned goods, available 4 times per year.
Home-Start Family Self Sufficiency
Must call for ahead for appointment, bring picture ID and live in East Region. Individuals allowed one distribution every four months. Spanish speaking.
Our Lady of Grace

Hours: Monday - Friday 9am-11am at Ministry Center (use Medford entrance)
Must be a resident of East County, show picture ID and a birth certificate or immunization card for each child. Arrive early on the first visit to fill out paperwork. Pantry doors close at 11:00am.
